English is the official language of EES 2018, therefore all contributions must be prepared and delivered in English. The time reserved for each presentation varies according to the session/ presentation type:
Paper session, Panel, Round table - 90 minutes (discussion included)
4-paper session* - 12 minutes
3-paper session* - 15 minutes
2-paper session* - 20 minutes
*Individual paper presentation should not exceed the time allowance above in order to ensure adequate time for discussion.
Authors are asked to follow the assigned times.
Please prepare your presentation preferably using PowerPoint version 2013 or 2016, however older versions are also supported. Screens’ aspect ratio will be 16:9.
Please note that Apple Keynote and Prezi presentations are not supported and they have to be converted into PDF files.
When saving your final presentation to the USB stick do not forget to make sure to include your video files and all links to these multimedia files.
As no presentation template is prepared, you are welcome to use your own.
Your presentation must be handed over to the technicians in the SPEAKERS’ PREVIEW ROOM as much in advance as possible, but no later than TWO HOURS BEFORE the beginning of the corresponding session. The presentation for an early morning session must be handed over the day before.
In the SPEAKERS’ PREVIEW ROOM, you will be assisted by the technician, who will help you to download your presentation to the intranet. You will also be able to review your presentation and to verify that it has been transferred correctly to the network.
Speakers’ preview room will be available in the following times:
Monday, 1 October - 12:00 -17:30
Tuesday, 2 October - 8:00 – 17:30
Wednesday, 3 October - 7:30 – 19:45
Thursday, 4 October - 7:30 – 19:45
Friday, 5 October - 7:30 – 15:15
Your presentation will be transferred directly to the lecture room through the local network.
Once the presentation is launched on the computer in the respective lecture room, you will advance your own slideshow using the remote control.
All speakers are requested to be present in the lecture room 10 minutes before the session starts to meet with the session chair.
Please, do not come at the last minute with your own computer into the lecture room: you will NOT BE ABLE to connect it. All presentations must be downloaded in the SPEAKERS’ PREVIEW ROOM beforehand.
If any problems occur, there will be assistance staff in each lecture room.
English is the official congress language, therefore all the posters must be written in English.
Each poster board will have a specific number. Please make sure to mount your poster on the poster board with the number corresponding to the number assigned to your poster presentation.
Authors are kindly requested to be present by the posters during the indicated session time to address any questions from the audience (especially during coffee breaks).
The maximum poster dimensions (portrait orientation) are 90cm width and 120cm height.
In order to fit the poster board, your poster must not exceed the recommended size. Prepare your material beforehand so that it will fit the space available and can be easily attached to the board. Thin cardboard is more suitable than paper. The organizers will provide suitable fixing materials, and onsite assistance will be available to help you to display your poster.
The poster area will be located on the ground floor of the venue, near to lecture rooms Alexandros and Phillipos.
Your poster can be mounted starting from Wednesday morning (entrance into the venue is allowed starting from 7:30).
Posters should be removed before your departure and on Friday, 5 October, 15:30 at the latest. If not removed by the author, the poster will be removed and trashed by the organizers.
