The bursary program aims to contribute to building evaluation capacity in developing countries. The selection gives priority to applicants who are active in the evaluation communities in their home countries. After the Conference, successful candidates are encouraged to share their experience with other evaluators in their country and region. The presence of evaluators from all over the world enriches the conference experience for all participants, as it contributes to a diversity of perspectives, including on the realities of undertaking evaluations in developing countries.
